LAY-OFF WAS ILLEAGAL!!
I just got off of the NYS department of labor's website, searching for some information about schools, not even thinking about my battle with Verizon, and all of a sudden, there it was...Verizon was required to give advance notice of the layoffs. There was rumor, but NEVER any solid talk, my foreman even told me that I wasn't going to get laid-off!! This is the quote taken from that site:
Q: Is either the employer or the employee required to "give notice" of termination?
A: Under the provisions of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), a bill enacted by Congress in 1988, employers with 100 or more workers must provide at least 60 days notice if a plant closing will affect 50 or more of those employees. Moreover, where a mass layoff occurs that does not result from a plant closing, notice is also required for any furlough of 50 or more workers if they make up one-third of the workforce, or if a total of 500 or more workers are laid off.
Quote taken from Verizon.com
They require us to provide not only unbundled lines from our locations to customers, but also "subloop" pieces of those lines. The FCC first required us to provide DSL-capable loops, then it required "line sharing" -- allowing a competitor to use only a portion of the capacity of the loop almost for free to provide DSL service while Verizon provided the underlying basic telephone service. Now we are also required to "line split" -- to arrange for two different competitors to share our lines, while we provide no service at all to the customer.
Yet, aside from this admittance of Verizon being REQUIRED BY LAW to provide open access to there lines and central office equipment for you to install DSL on a telephone line of the local carrier of your choice, I was still forced to switch back to Verizon to get DSL installed on my fiancé's line. Needless to say I filed a PSC complaint. Unfortunately my fiancé was unaware of my intentions with this complaint, and was just happy to know that the DSL was going to be installed on her line. (Ending up being turned on 2 weeks
after the due date)
*NEW*
I do not know what these are for, but they are frequencies that I have found to be registered for Verizon. I have not heard anything on these frequencies, you will need a radio scanner, also known as "police scanner" to listen in. When I worked for install and repair we did NOT use 2 way radios, so perhaps this is for coporate security, although most managment types get cellular phones??

ADDITIONAL VERISHIT INFOZ:
MELARD CAT | @ROAD GPS
The Melard CAT is a WIN CE based computer! Think about that. It is a computer. It can connect to the internet, perhaps not with the dial-up numbers provided for accessing LFACS, or dispach or what have you. SIMPLE STEPS TO TURN IT INTO A PORTABLE PC:
(this is by memory, I returned mine upon layoff)
Go to the icon (perhaps its in control pannel) that says make a new dial up connection (or something of that sort) You will need to have a dial-up account, and a password to place here. (trust me if you dont have a dial up account but VZ DSL use your DSL user id and pw, and find out a dial up number from Verizon online.) Internet explorer is already installed so your on your way. There are also other tweaks that you can preform with this unit, however without one in front of me I can not provide much infoz on this. Additional infoz at www.melard.com I belive the number is 1-800-melard7 or something similar, check it out on there website.
aside from the following, I have uploaded a photo tutorial on this subject HERE
The AT ROAD GPS infoz is avalible to anyone with internet access a username and password. I do NOT suggest you use your cat as a way on the net for this infoz, although possible, it requires a large DL for the viewer. Although I was never able to access the account, even with my BAID and securid code, if you can get a managers useid and pw you can view gps from any computer, you would proballay also need the veichle markers or something like that? I suggest not trying this from your home, or from your own internet account, set up a free one, but never use this free account from a line traceable back to you, CYA(cover your ass). At road GPS can be reached, if i remember corectly at 1-800-4-atroad or www.atroad.com The easiest way to disable GPS is to short the phukker out. Find the box (located inside the kick pannel to the right foot of the passanger seat, stick a wire into the red connection wire, then ground it to any metal surface of the veichle. There will be a small spark, and all of the lights will shut off on the GPS. Replace the cover to the kick plate to cover your tracks. Never cut or tamper physicllay with the unit or any of the wiring. Never acknowledge that the GPS is disabled, you would have no way of knowing this. A blown fuse or short is fairly common, they occur from time to time, a physicllay tampered with unit will get you caught. If you "truck hop" and arent assigned to one particular veichle every day it is not advisable that you do this very often, only days it is nesacarray. Do not discuss the fact that you have done this to your GPS with anyone, someone may be watching or listening, or it just may be a rat, or someone who will flap there lips to the wrong person.
